Round 8 Summary

Oh Round 8, what drama you contained! We got a new alien resident, Meadow and Slade proved that they weren't horrible parents, Mellow Metal had an album go gold, and two of our military men served their country and returned home! With so much happening, bet you wonder what Round 9 will hold, right? Well here's the ROS for Round 9:

* Cheat! Can be an affair or a one time only thing.
* Woohoo scavenger hunt! Woohoo on all available objects.
* Party (Rolled a barbeque)

The cheating one is going to be quite interesting. It is very fitting for the sim that rolled it and I'm thinking it will be a one time thing. But I haven't quite decided. I was going to roll for it but I decided to let the sim's personality decide how serious it is. The woohoo scavenger hunt fits the sim that rolled it :). And the party will be much needed for this family, although I don't know how it will end. It has the potential to be a disaster or a great time lol.

And after viewing the voting results, Mindi Mason will now be a playable! There were 4 votes for her becoming a resident, 2 for her staying in the background, and 1 of you didn't know who the heck she was lol. I'm exciting about breathing more life into Mindi, I think she's actually quite an interesting character. She will be moving into her own place and hopefully pursuing a relationship with Mr. Marcus Burns :).

Brian Johnson will also finally move into his own place with Joanna. I think it's safe to leave Slade alone now, he's proven himself trustworthy, at least when it comes to Joss! Mellow Metal will also do some shows in this next round, and I haven't completely ruled out another tour...........

I'm excited to see how Celeste and Satitu handle their new adopted daughter. She is quite different from Andromeda. I'm also thinking I may introduce Connor to Totia this upcoming round. It'll be best to ease him into his visit to Peragama when he turns 12 and Totia is a good start for that.

I really enjoy playing the sims and sharing my stories with you guys and I'm so glad that each of you take the time out of your days or nights to read about my little pixelated people :). I will once again be taking a mandatory break this summer as the class I need was canceled and won't be taught until the fall. So my updates still may be sparse until about the end of May. But then I get 2 months of fun with no class assignments to worry about :). Thanks so much for hanging in there with me during these droughts and I really appreciate all the comments you guys leave, you're all awesome! See ya in Round 9!

Round 7 Summary

Round 7 was filled with lots of drama, laughs, and love! Mellow Metal had their first tour, Kenny got married and had his first son! Derick Pace is attempting to turn over a new leaf for the sake of his daughter and wife. Celeste is finally going to be a mother and Slade was hit with the bomb that he is going to become a father. Round 8 is sure to be just as drama filled, if not more so! Here are the ROS for round 8:

* Oh no! Scotty beamed you up! Get abducted by aliens (I SO hate who rolled this :/. It's going to be hard as hell to work this in naturally lol. I think you'll be pretty surprised! I know I was!)

* Ugh, this 9 to 5 blows! Quit your job and start a new venture.

* Expand your family by adoption (Again, very fitting for this couple. I was actually going to let them adopt Meadow's baby, but it isn't very realistic)

I've been dying to roll the abduction one and isn't it just poetic that it's on the last person I would have ever picked! It'll be very interesting to work this out, in the end I'm sure it'll be good......I hope :). I'll be creating a page for all my non-playables like Mindi and the Phillippines who have twins that go to LBE. The census page has been updated to reflect the current stats.......quite a few sims in the hood now! I've also decided to make Meadow playable. I don't see her and Slade getting together, and I actually like playing with her. Plus, she'll be having the child of a playable character so I think it's only fair. I'm on the fence about whether Ricky will or not.......

Round 6 Summary

FINALLY! The end of Round 6 is here!!!

A lot of babies this round! My schools are going to be packed with the next generation! Gordon is now a playable and will get his own profile! Also I'm making a few changes starting in Round 7:

* From seasons to months: I have enough play sessions now to switch over to months. Now I can use my holiday stuff pack a little more :)

* The schools will now be played twice per round instead of only once. There are technically 2 school years in each round and I want my kids to have more interactions with each other. Uni will still be played 4 times a round, with each time being a full semester. I find that playing it one semester at a time keeps me from getting too bored with my uni kids.

* This is really more for my benefit than anything else but I've decided to create backgrounds for my founding sims. I've hinted at it with the Blasts from the Past for a few of them but I want to go a bit deeper with all of the characters I've created. I suppose I'll create a separate tag on the sidebar to make them more accessible. They will be alot like the character bios from Sessions. I won't do it for the ingame born sims since the blog has been following their lives. But characters like Slade Willis and Charity Jones will also get backgrounds.

I have switched everything over to Evernote and I must say I love it! I just took the forms I created and copied and pasted them into Evernote. I left one of each type of form blank so that say when I need a new profile for someone, I copy the blank one, create a new entry, paste the blank form and fill it in with my sim's info. And since I have the app on my tablet, as I'm playing I can update things without either minimizing the game or playing in window mode.

Caleb, Ginger, Ricky, and Meadow are all starting uni this next round and I'm excited to see how they each develop :). It should be pretty interesting! Ginger will be the first sim to go to Brown Technical University (my in hood uni).

Round 7 ROS:

* Take a vacation
* Civic Safety Grant: $15000 to be spent on public safety
*Weekly night out

Nothing earth shattering. The take a vacation one works well with some plans I have already made and the person who rolled the weekly night out really needs it! I'm still working on what I'm going to do with the grant money. Is it wrong for me to want very badly to roll my get abducted ROS?

Round 5 Summary

Round 4 Summary

Lots of interesting things this time:

* Construction of the elementary school and tax office has been completed. I've decided to only collect taxes once every 2 rounds or once every 4 years. That way they will actually have time to make money in between tax collections. So the tax office won't be used this upcoming round to collect taxes, but they will hold a meeting there.

* I will have 2 new residents moving to Camden Park next round:

Lorelai Ellison will begin working as the first principal/teacher of LaQuest Beach Elementary. Her new teaching position is not the only reason she has decided to move to Camden Park with her husband........there is much more to her than meets the eye.....

 Jacob Ellison quit touring with his band, Blooming Plumbobs, after he married Lorelai. She didn't ask him to do it, he just wanted to be able to spend more time with her. Music has never left his blood and he currently helps new bands get their start. He has also opened a club in Camden Park called The Hub. He has shown an interest in working with Mellow Metal.
* I've also decided to start using ROS for Round 5. I'll post the ROS in the summary for the previous round. So here are the Round 5 ROS:

     * You're feeling creative, take up a new hobby or open a business
     * You win the "What I love about LaQuest Beach" essay contest - win 1 tax free year
     * Go on a vacation

Nothing too exciting, although I have no idea what hobby I'm going to let this person start......no clue! I think the vacation is much needed for the person that got it.

*EDIT - I've also decided to add the Picasos from the family bin this round. I didn't realize that the stripper in Derick Pace's club was Jessica Picaso! So I want to add them in and figure out how such a wholesome looking woman became a married exotic dancer!

Round 3 Summary

If feels good to have gotten through a round! My game is running pretty smoothly now and I am so happy about it! Lots of interesting things happened this round:

Marriage: Corbin Gray and Amanda Gray (Carlson)

Births: Javion Carr

New Residents: Celeste Sky (Andromeda Orionious), Starema Orionious

Pregnancies: Kinsley Knowles (due Winter 2032), Corbin Gray (due Winter 2032)

* I plan to restart collecting taxes this up coming round.
* I don't know exactly how I plan to proceed with Celeste and her mother, Starema. I don't want to just have all my sims getting abducted all at once so I may wait to get someone else abducted.....unless it just happens that it! I have higher risks of getting abducted installed so who knows what will happen, especially with my slew of uni students.....can't keep an eye on the all the time lol

* So I've snuck and sped through Corbin's pregnancy......the kid is totally awesome! But you guys will have to wait until the Winter to see him.......:)

Round 1 Summary

So for those of you who have been reading my disjointed updates, here's a recap in the first round of LaQuest Beach:

*Tessa Gunner was offered the opportunity to open up a home business in the form of a club with her lover, Derick Pace. She accepted and the two will be opening the Black Door in Round 2.

*Alana and Christian Brown welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Christa Brown, into the neighborhood in Spring 2024. Alana is dying to open up her own restaurant, but her husband is against the idea and wants them to focus on his political career.

*Kinsley Johnson was introduced to her boyfriend's family. Kevin Knowles' parents adored Kinsley. Kinsley will be attending LaQuest Beach Community college in Fall 2024 and Kevin will be attending Sim State University.

*Ariel White finally got a job and will be potentially moving out of her brother's home in Round 2. Marshal White has a new love interest, Shamella Reeves.

Kinsley Johnson and Kevin Knowles will be going off to University next round (I'm so excited!). This will be the first time I have tried to run a college in the main hood. I'm also excited to begin Derick's club. Round 2 should be a very exciting round!
