Round 1 Summary

So for those of you who have been reading my disjointed updates, here's a recap in the first round of LaQuest Beach:

*Tessa Gunner was offered the opportunity to open up a home business in the form of a club with her lover, Derick Pace. She accepted and the two will be opening the Black Door in Round 2.

*Alana and Christian Brown welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Christa Brown, into the neighborhood in Spring 2024. Alana is dying to open up her own restaurant, but her husband is against the idea and wants them to focus on his political career.

*Kinsley Johnson was introduced to her boyfriend's family. Kevin Knowles' parents adored Kinsley. Kinsley will be attending LaQuest Beach Community college in Fall 2024 and Kevin will be attending Sim State University.

*Ariel White finally got a job and will be potentially moving out of her brother's home in Round 2. Marshal White has a new love interest, Shamella Reeves.

Kinsley Johnson and Kevin Knowles will be going off to University next round (I'm so excited!). This will be the first time I have tried to run a college in the main hood. I'm also excited to begin Derick's club. Round 2 should be a very exciting round!

Terrance Coners is 32, Kenny is 9 (Tabitha Gunner is 33, Amanda Carlson is 27)

This is his favorite time of day. It's the time when he and his son can actually spend some quality time together. It's hard balancing work and home when you're a single parent. But he manages it. And Kenny understands. He's amazingly perceptive for a 9 year old boy. But he would have to be to endure his own mother leaving him. Allison was bad news from the start and Terrance should have listened to his instincts. He would never make that mistake again. Kenny deserved better.

Birthdays: Spring 2024

Only one birthday this round sadly:

Christian and Alana Brown are 27

Christian had no idea that birth was so shocking. Oh, he knew where babies came from and knew that it would be a tad bit painful for Alana, but seeing it took his breath away. He almost passed out when she went into labor! Alana says, "Hey moron, get it together. I'm the one in pain here!"

And a few hours later, little Ms. Christa Brown was born. She has her father's brown hair and her mother's piercing blue eyes.

Kip and Kimber Henderson are 31, Caleb is 3

He's amazing. He has no idea how truly amazing he is. He's a miniature version of his father. Kip looks at his son and actually gets teary eyed. He would never let anyone know it, it's not very masculine. The day Caleb was born, Kip knew his purpose in life: to be the best dad he could be. He was slowly working his way up the ladder at the law firm he worked at. He wanted the very best for his little man.

Derick Pace had a plan. It was a good plan. It was a plan that would allow him to become something more than a two-bit criminal. He would have a completely legit job, doing something fun, and make lots of money. It was a no fail plan. Only one thing could possibly stand in his way: Tessa Gunner. She was a key part to his plan and he really need her to cooperate. He liked Tess, she was a sweet girl. Beautiful and fun to be with. He knew she wasn't really the settling down type and he wasn't thinking marriage and kids himself. But they had fun together and he liked having her around......hopefully she felt the same.....

Tanner and Keisha Knowles are 35, Kevin is 17, Kayla is 9

Tanner and Keisha Knowles are lucky. They know it, and the rest of LaQuest Beach knows it. Tanner was a trust fund baby who made wise investments with his money and became very financially stable. He and Keisha met while they were both vacationing with their families and they have been in love every since. Tanner doesn't need to really work, but he's always wanted to be a police officer and so he has joined the academy. Keisha was dedicated to making their home the best it could be for their children and so she never got to follow her dreams. But she is now studying fashion design and hopes to start a small line one day. They live in one of the nicer beach homes.

Christian Brown is 26, Alana Brown is 26

Another morning. That was how she was beginning to feel. That every day was just another day. A count down until the baby would be born. Alana loved Christian. But she didn't know who he was becoming. Christian had dreams of becoming the first official mayor of LaQuest Beach. Alana supported her husband at first. But then he started with the rules. She loves to cook, always has. It was one of the things Christian loved about her. So she though he would be excited when she proposed taking out a loan so she could buy this cute little restaurant by the shore. But Christian wouldn't go for it. Said the wife of a mayor didn't need to be running some small time diner. That she needed to be home taking care of the kids. Kids? It would become his next demand. So now she's pregnant. And she will love her child......she always wanted kids........but not to become a picture perfect family.

Marshal White is 27, Ariel White is 21
(It's a teeny weeny bit long!)

Ariel White was happy. Most people are unhappy with the path their lives take, but she was pretty content with where she was. She was convinced that one day soon, the world would hear the name Ariel White and say, "Damn, that girl can SING!" Of course, she'd never had any formal training but most really good singers never did. And yes, she lived in Englewood, which meant that opportunity wouldn't just knock on her door.......but Ariel was a very determined, strong willed woman. And she skipped out on college so she could follow her dreams.....so failure was definitely not an option!

Donna Johnson doesn't know how she got to this point in her life. Five years ago she was happily married with 2 beautiful kids. Then it was all taken away in one swift move by a freak storm and slippery roads. Her husband Franklin was a good man. The best man she had ever known in her life. He wasn't the best business man and they had always had to struggle, but they struggled together. Now she struggles alone. But she can't think of that. Because she has two kids who need her to be strong. So she joined the military to feed her family. Franklin didn't want her to work after Kinsley was born so she never really gained any job skills. But they were making it. She hated living in Englewood and knew that it wasn't a good place to raise her kids, but it was all she could afford at the time. Plus, she was trying to save up for Kinsley's college. Because she didn't want her daughter to end up in the same place.

This is her favorite time of the day. The sun is just rising and most of the world is still asleep. It's quiet. She doesn't have much time for quiet. Quiet isn't very fun. But sometimes, when there is too much chaos, she looks forward to these morning workouts. It's all a part of being Tessa Gunner.

Another day. Every day seems to be just like any other in the life of Amanda Carlson. How did she get stuck in this rut? She graduated at the top of her class and has never been able to really become anything big. Oh, she's had plenty of small time jobs, but nothing that ever made anyone take notice and say "Wow, that Amanda Carlson is really making moves." She knew what the problem was. She has always been an extremely shy sim. She doesn't really know why, maybe she's wired wrong. She's an attractive enough female. but men have always made her so  uncomfortable. She'd give anything to be like her friend Tessa Gunner.........but what's the use of wishing for something you'll never be? Yes, another sad day in the life of plain, boring Amanda Carlson.....
