Scandalous Scholastics

Round 7 - March 2040- LBPS
Principal: Kip Henderson; Grade 7: Imani Coners, Imara Coners, Kali Knowles, Carl Faulkner, Hunter Davidson, Samara Eldridge; Grade 9: Christa Brown, Bobby Emerson, Beverly Kendall; Grade 12: Raphael Jones, Jean Mahesh

Kip couldn't wait for Kayla to come back from maternity leave. They had gotten an influx of transfer students and he could really use her help. He wasn't sure he could handle the entire group of hormonal teens who were counting down the days until springbreak...........

This was the first time he had a full classroom since the opening of LaQuest Beach Prep. Jean Mahesh and Raphael Jones were graduating this year, but there were still quite a few students left with all the new transfers. But Kip was happy to see that Christa Brown had finally made a friend in Bobby Emerson. He was really concerned with how withdrawn she was, but Bobby seemed to bring her out of her shell..........

In fact, Bobby had brought Christa WAY out of her shell. This became most apparent during the times Kip stepped outside his classroom for a bathroom break.......

"And just what do you two think you're doing?" Kip asked when he returned.
"Nothing, Bobby was just explaining that last problem to me," Christa said.
"Is that right? Well how about you reserve questions about class assignments for me in the future," Kip said.
"Fine. Whatever. It's not a big deal."

"Well I think your father would think it was a big deal!"
"My father thinks everything is a big deal. So I'm sure this will be no different. Could we just leave him out of this? I won't ask Bobby for anymore help, ok?"
"That's fine. This time," Kip said. He had no desire to bring Christian into anything. He didn't want to deal with it and he couldn't imagine how things would be for Christa.

Kali Knowles seemed to have found a friend in Carl Faulkner as well. She knew she was going to love high school!

Imara Coners was also getting along well with Samara Eldridge. Samara was a very interesting girl, despite being a bit conceited. It surprised Imara that she even wanted to be friends with her. She seemed more suited to Imani, but it was still nice to have someone to talk to since her and her sister ended up in different classes.

Samara didn't think of herself as conceited. She was cute and she knew it. Isn't it only conceited if it isn't true? Because really, how could she help being beautiful?

Kip decided to call an assembly before it was time for the kids to go home.
"Now I know all of you are excited about springbreak, but it isn't here yet and we still have work to do! I need all of you to continue to work hard as you've been doing all semester," he said.
"What's wrong with being excited? Don't you want to get away from this place too?" Beverly Kendall asked.
"Of course I'm looking forward to springbreak. And I will be happy to have the time off. But it isn't here yet and I need all of you to remember that. Now, all of you have a good evening and make sure to do your homework assignments!" Kip said.

There was only so much he could do to motivate them. Really, how can you win against springbreak?

* So Christa really likes Bobby! They kept hugging and talking to each other. I need to check her memory, I'm sure I've already missed her first kiss! It'll be interesting to see how her dad takes all of this :).

* I'm glad I added in some of the townies, it's good to fill the school out a bit. I won't need to do this again as I'll soon have a steady flow of kids come in from the elementary school.

  1. There are a ton of new students and I loved how you introduced them to us, I doubt that Christian would take it very well that his daughter was caught kissing in school.

  2. I liked how you showed who was friends with who. The bit about Samara made me laugh though, "isn't it only conceited if it isn't true?". I know a few people who think of themselves like that!

  3. LOL, "explaining that last problem"! Sure he was, Christa! I'm glad Kip went easy on her though. She's got enough on her plate with her dad.

  4. Apple Valley - Christian would blow his top if he found out about that little incident! I really needed to fill out the school a bit until more of the younger kids age up

Driftwood - LOL I think Samara is going to be hilarious! I too know a few people who think that way!

Carla - Yes, such a lame excuse lol. I guess that was the best she could come up with :). And she really does have enough going on with her dad. Their relationship is strained enough as it is......
