Round 9 - January 2043 - Mini-update
When darkness turns to light
It ends tonight, it ends tonight,
Just a little insight, won't make this right
It's too late to fight, it ends tonight, it ends tonight

"I just don't see the point of all this! I am so tired of making room in my schedule to come down here and talk about the same shit all the time!" Christian exclaimed.
"Christian, we've been over this. Christa will be going off to college this year and I don't want her to leave with the way things are," Alana said sadly.
"I don't see what difference it makes. She wants to run off to New Barrington, she's not interested in doing anything but getting away from us," Christian said.
"Is that true, Christa?" Gordon asked.
"No. New Barrington has an excellent public administration program," she said.
"You want to go into politics like your father?" Gordon asked.
"Are you insane? No! I want to work for an intelligence agency. Like the CIA," she said.
"That can be a pretty dangerous job. Why did you choose that career path?" Gordon asked.
"Because it allows her to run away from us and we not know where she is," Christian said.
"You keep saying US......I just want to get away from you! Does it make you feel better to lump Mom in the same category with you? I don't understand why it's so hard for you to just admit you've been a crap father and husband! You've made Mom feel bad about her restaurant when she should be proud! You constantly comment on the weight she has gained and blame the restaurant! Hayden is getting into trouble in school because of the hate you teach him at home! And you don't even know who I am! All you see is the Christa you've tried to groom for public perception! My nose ring doesn't bother you because I'm 17 and went out and pierced my nose, it bothers you because the daughter of a mayor shouldn't have one! It's YOU Dad, just YOU!" Christa shouted.
"Is that right? It seems that I could have saved us all the trouble and just never took Aidan up on his offer," Christian said angrily.
"What?" Alana asked.
"Who is Aidan?" Gordon asked.
"My father. What does my father have to do with anything, Christian?" Alana asked.
"Just forget it. Doesn't matter......."
"Tell me! What does my father have to do with this?"
"He's the reason we got together in the first place......." Christian said quietly.
"What the hell are you talking about?!"
"What exactly are you trying to say Mr. Brown?" Gordon asked.
"Alana is headstrong, like her mother was. I worked for her dad as an intern and he came to me one and asked me to date his daughter......." Christian began. He paused once he heard the sharp intake of breath from Alana........
"Why........HOW could you do that, Christian?" Alana asked with tears in her eyes.
"I didn't think it would be a big deal," Christian said still looking at Gordon. "I figured I would date his daughter for a while, get in good with him, and then go on with my life later," he said.
"So why did you marry Mrs. Brown? What changed your plans?" Gordon asked.
"The way Aidan talked about her, I thought she was going to be annoying. Irritating even. But when I met her.......It was the eyes. I looked into those blue eyes and I knew I was in trouble. I knew that this was not going to go according to plan. And I was okay with that........we dated and the more I got to know her, who she really was, the more I knew that I wouldn't be happy without her around........"
"You lied to me. You've been lying to me for 21 years now Christian," Alana said quietly.
"You play this innocent role, knowing that this is who you really are, who you've really been all along! What a price to pay, huh? Was my grandfather's political influence worth it? All this time you've been CHAINED to this family you never wanted?" Christa asked angrily.
"I don't think that's what your father was saying," Gordon said.
"You shouldn't have done this in front of Christa. You're only making it worse," Alana said with tears in her eyes.
"What difference does it make? I've known the kind of person he is all along. You're the one that just got the reality check," Christa said to her mother.
Alana knew that her daughter was right. She couldn't believe that Christian made a deal with the devil, which is basically who Aidan Gates was. All the horrible things her father did was now erased from his memory due to his advanced dementia. Old age was too generous to him as far as Alana was concerned. He should have to live with the consequences of all of his actions, not get to conveniently have them removed. She never would have thought she would end up with a man just like her father..........how could they go on now? Did she even want to?
If this didn't wake her mother up, she didn't know what would. They may stop her from moving to New Barrington for school, but they couldn't stop her from job hunting there once she graduated. LBU would be far enough away from the drama for now.........
"This has been a very.......revealing session. There's a lot of ground to cover now. Mr. Brown dropped a very large bomb and we will have to deal with the aftermath. Where do we go from here? It's up to each of you. Mrs. Brown, you have to decide what you are going to do with this information, and what, if any effect it has on your current relationship. I don't think your relationship is irreparable, but it will take a lot work work. So the question is, do you want to try?"
* I went in to play the Foster household because they're next and this is what I got from Gordon's session with the Browns. Because a lot is going to happen during both the Foster update and Brown update, I decided to do a mini-update so that I don't have like 50 pics in one update lol
* All these facial expressions happened naturally. I simply sat them down and let them talk. Christa is going off to uni this round and I wanted to at least try a session with her before she escapes to LBU. As you can see, it didn't go well. I mentioned Christian's deal with Alana's father in her bio on my behind the scenes blog and linked to it in case anyone wanted to read it. I'll go into all this more in the Brown's regular update.
* How freaking gorgeous is Christa? Her parents may have a crap relationship, but they made a beautiful kid! I'm sure Hayden and Aidan will be equally as gorgeous as well!
O good gracious,it's hit the fan now. At least he said he fell in love with her and that's why they married instead of marrying for political gain. It happens all the time, parents introduce children and they marry later.
ReplyDeleteI think Alana is more upset that he made a deal with HER father. Their relationship was never good and I think she feels betrayed that Christian would have done that. He does love her, I think she knows that but there's just so much that he does that makes it seem that he doesn't.
DeleteGordon has his work cut out for him, doesn't he?
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I can absolutely see why Christa and Alana are furious about Christian's bombshell. At the same time though, this is one of the only times I can think of where Christian doesn't seem irredeemably horrible. The reason he started dating Alana was awful but then he genuinely fell in love with her. There's something weirdly sweet about that. LOL, you've actually made me almost side with Christian here! Though that doesn't accuse all the issues he's caused with his family since then.
I was going to comment on Christa too - she's really a gorgeous girl.
Haha, sorry for the conflicting emotions :). Poor Gordon does have quite a bit of work cut out for him! I think this whole thing will make Alana question her entire relationship with Christian up until this point. Christa is really pretty, she is a nice mix of the two. Like I said, I think the twins are going to be quite handsome as well.
DeleteChrista is gorgeous! And Wow there is just so much going on here. I think it's sweet that Christian did start having feelings for Alana, reminds me of some movies from the 90's, that are slipping my mind. The facial expressions were super fitting. I hope that things work out, after all while Christian was awful in the beginning for making the deal, it sounds like he genuinely meant it when it came time to marry, that has to count for something doesn't it?
