Perfect

Round 9 - March 2043
Last update/ Next update
Christian & Alana Brown are 46, Christa is 17, Hayden and Aidan are 9

Cause we lost it all
And nothin' lasts forever
I'm sorry I can't be perfect
Now it's just too late
And we can't go back,
I'm sorry I can't be, perfect
Simple Plan

Christian Brown knew he had screwed up. Royally screwed up. Things in their house had been strained since that fateful session with Mr. Nott. Christa was even more distant and Alana........Alana was slowly spiraling down and he didn't know what to do to save her........

Alana was numb.........her entire marriage was built on a lie. She knew her father was a manipulative man, but she never would have expected him to interfere in her life like this. And Christian........his ambition knew no bounds. And Alana wondered just what else her husband was keeping from her........

She put all her time and energy into her restaurant. She knew she was being a horrible mother by staying away from home so much, but she just couldn't stand being around him. The only time her numb feeling lifted was when she was angry.......and hurt.......and she just was tired of feeling those things......

Christa would be away at LBU in a few short months and she couldn't wait. Her mother was like a ghost, wandering lifelessly from room to room. That's when she was even home. She was staying out later and later these days and coming home with the smell of alcohol on her breath. This is what her father had reduced their family to........

She tried to pick up her mother's slack as far as her brothers were concerned. They didn't really understand what was going on and Christa didn't want them being affected by it. They were just little kids...........

Aidan had made a friend in Ryder Phillippine and the young boy came over almost everyday after they got out of school. Christa was glad that they were making friends. They would need them with the way things were going with their family...........

Alana never drank alcohol unless it was in a social setting. Like one of Christian's fundraisers or the dinner parties he asked her to throw. But she was finding that it was very good at chasing away bad feelings..........

She could concentrate on the burn of the amber liquor as it made its way down her throat to land in her stomach and give her a feeling of warmth. She needed to feel something other than the anger...........

And it was this thought, along with the 4 drinks she had consumed, that lead to her interactions with Parker Martin. He was a young, gorgeous man with kind eyes. Kind eyes........Alana had almost forgotten what those looked like...........

He made her laugh.........it had been such a long time since she laughed..........

And in her alcohol-induced haze, she knew he could fix her. He could make her happy again, make her feel something other than the anger she felt for Christian........

She came to her senses, but only after she convinced him to get in her car, ride with her to a secluded place, and make out like a couple of teenagers.
"This was.......a mistake......." she said.
"You're married, huh?" Parker asked.
"Yes......."

"But not happily I'm assuming," he said.
"It's.......complicated. We're going through some things right now........have been going through some things for quite a while now......."
"And you're here, making out with me. Why don't you just end it?" Parker asked.
"You're so young.......you wouldn't understand......." she said with a small, sad smile.

"I may be young, but I know that staying in an unhappy and unhealthy relationship is insane. Look, I don't know you and you don't really know me. But........I don't know, I think you're a special lady. It's just a feeling I have......here's my number, call me if you're ever ready to move on with your life," Parker said before getting out of the car. Alana watched him walk away, wondering what she was supposed to do now.................

Christian was usually the one that fed the kids now. Alana was spending all her time at that restaurant, avoiding him. Well, that's what he thought she was doing. He decided to stop by the restaurant for lunch and it was closed. Which made him wonder just where the hell his wife was spending her time...........

The boys missed their mother and so did Christian. He wasn't used to sitting down to dinner with them; he was usually at the office during this time. The twins were very intelligent children and they seemed to be doing quite well during this difficult time. And Christian liked Hayden's friend Ryder, the boy was from a nice family and was very polite.

"I can't believe you're joining us for dinner," Christian said when Christa sat down.
"Calling this dinner is a little too far. Ashes covered in ketchup is more like it. I'm just grabbing something before I head out," she said.
"Out where? It's a school night!"
"With friends to The Hot Spot. I've done all my homework, my grades are good, it's not a big deal Dad," she said as she got up to leave. He didn't know if he would ever be able to repair his relationship with his daughter.........

Alana came in about an hour after Christa left.
"Where have you been?" Christian asked.
"Work."
"I came by the restaurant, Alana. You weren't there."
"You're checking up on me? You have some nerve, Christian Brown! Don't pretend you give a damn about me now!" she yelled.

"For God's sake Alana, I wasn't checking up on you! I just wanted to see my wife," he said.
"You don't have to keep playing this game, Christian. You're a mayor now. The plot you cooked up with my father worked. Let's just stop pretending, okay?"
"Alana.........you've been drinking again," he said.
"Yes, Christian I have. Finally found something that makes being married to you a little easier," she said as she brushed past him. He just didn't know what to do anymore to save his marriage. He had never seen Alana like this. And it was killing him to know that he had driven her to this..........

Christa didn't like being home when her mother returned. She hated seeing what was happening to her. So most of her evenings were spent down at the spot, people watching. She was happy to see her friend Imara Coners flirting with Gallagher Newson. Well.......it was Imara's version of flirting. She was just so shy. But Gallagher seemed nice enough, and they seemed happy together, even though Imara still claimed that they were only friends.

Things seemed back to normal between Kayden and Kali. Christa was convinced that Kali had some feelings for Kayden, though she denied it. She kind of wished she would be around to see Kayden get his first girlfriend. She had a feeling that Kali would not like that at all.......

But the two seemed to have gotten over Kayden's declaration during Halloween and they were back to being friends. For now.........

"How excited are you about going off to uni?" Kali asked.
"I can't wait. It's going to be good getting away from here for a while," Christa said.
"I can't wait until it's time for me to go! College life, away from the parents? It's going to be so awesome!"
"Absolutely," Christa said.

Samara couldn't understand why guys thought Kali was so great. She didn't think she was prettier than any of the other girls, and especially not her. First Carl and now Kayden........it just wasn't fair........

But that was okay, because things were about to change. Whether Kali Knowles knew it or not..................

"We can't keep this up, Alana," Christian said.
"Why not? We've been keeping this up for years now. Should be easier now that I know the truth."

"For God's sake Alana, I was a kid! An endorsement from your dad, his advice.........how could I turn that down? I didn't know you, didn't know that I would fall in love with you. I swear to you, I have not stayed in this marriage just because of a stupid deal made with your father years ago," he said.
"How can I believe that, Christian? All you've done this entire time is stress how important it is that you keep up appearances so that you can continue to get reelected. It's never been about this family, about your love for us," she said.

"Oh Alana, what can I do? How can I make you understand how much I love you and our kids?"
"I don't know that you can anymore, Christian. I don't think that I can trust what you say anymore. I don't know what else you're keeping from me," Alana said with tears in her eyes.
"Nothing baby, nothing. I made a decision today. I can't lose you, Alana. I can't lose the boys. I already don't know if I can ever get things right with Christa, I won't lose you guys too. I'm........I'm not going to run for another term as mayor. I'm going to step down after this term so that I can be here with you and my kids. So that you'll know that nothing else in this world matters to me," Christian said.
"What? But you love being a mayor Christian. You're going to give that up, walk away from that?" Alana asked.

"There is nothing in this world that I love more than you, Alana. I can't thank your father enough for making that offer to me. Don't you see, my prize in all of this hasn't been me becoming mayor. It's been having the pleasure and the honor of being your husband. Please let me make all this up to you........just one more chance Alana..........Please..........
"Oh, Christian," she said hugging him. His words were very touching........but she just didn't know if they made any difference at this point..........

* Sorry for it being so long, but so much happened during their time. So Alana rolled the cheating ROS for this round. I couldn't see her going all the way and sleeping with someone else, it's not really in her. So she just had a make out sessions with buff cutie lol. I'm not sure if she's gonna stay or go at this point.........I don't know if they can realistically jump back from this. Gordon is going to have his work cut out for him!

* Christa will start at LBU in August of this round and I am so excited to play her away from her family. I'm interested in seeing if she'll still be emo once she gets away. She is still dating Bobby, I just couldn't get him over to get some shots of him.

* Aidan and Hayden are so cute, I know they are going to be gorgeous like their big sister. And I just thought this was cute:

I forget where I downloaded these bunk beds but I love them!

* I'm so sorry it's been a month since I posted. My health is so up and down these days but they are sending me to a rheumatologist soon so I'm hoping to have more consistently good days. It's tough not feeling well and still being in grad school and working full time. When I'm home I don't really feel much like playing the game sometimes. But I will be catching up on everyone's blogs hopefully this weekend and maybe playing though the next update so I can make another post before another month passes! I really want to see what Brian and Joanna have and I don't want to just go in and do it, I'm just trying to play according to the schedule I have lol.

  1. I'll believe it when I see him step down as mayor and not a minute before. Glad things are getting better for you, take care of yourself,

    1. Lol Christian hasn't made it easy for anyone to really believe what he says. I think Alana shares your doubt!

  2. I don't know why but I feel like Christian is actually genuine here. He can feel the possibility of actually losing Alana, which maybe he'd never actually considered before, and he's giving it his all to make sure it doesn't happen. I don't know what the healthiest thing to do for Alana would be though...this has been an extraordinarily difficult marriage for her so far. :\

That Samara is a bit of a worry! She's scheming something, I'm sure.

I'm sorry you're still unwell but I'm glad you're feeling hopeful about the rheumatologist.

    1. I do think that Christian sees that he could VERY likely lose his wife and break up his family. I'm not sure if it's too little too late at this point. And Samara.......yes, she is a bit of a schemer, as you'll see in the high school update :)

  3. I feel badly for Christian in this, I mean, he should have made it right in the very beginning. But he didn't, and I feel that in between the beginning and now, there was a time that he should have come clean, and it wouldn't have been as hard for Alana as it has been. I'm glad she did not go all the way, and that Christian called her out on her lie. I think it'd be harder to cheat if he already caught you lying once. I do hope they work it out, it's got to be hard for all the kids.

Looking forward to seeing what schemes Samara gets into for the high school update. You've got a lot of interesting high schoolers at the moment!

I hope your are feeling better and the next doctor will be able to help you get back to yourself.
